Customer Requirement:

A Climate Control Company contacted us with a requirement to heat the new large Ikea store in North London as their new heating system was still being installed/commissioned. Without heating, this warehouse could not be loaded with the stock as it was too cold / damp, it was also too cold for the staff to design and layout the new showroom part of the store. As the area was so large it would have needed several small heaters to achieve the required temperature, and there would not have been enough room to site heaters let alone the power to feed them. Also at that time there was no three phase power available on site.

Carrier Rental Systems Solution:

The requirements of the building were assessed and Carrier Rental Systems solution was to provide 3 x low temperature hot water 500kw temporary boiler houses, each connected to internal air handling units to provide re-circulated air to enable us to gain higher temperatures quickly. The temporary boiler houses were situated outside on three different sides of the building and there were ahu's on either side of the warehouse forcing air around the building. We had smaller AHU's in the middle of the showroom with temporary ducting directing warm air around the showroom. The system was connected together with flexible 2" Bauer hoses connecting into the flow and return pipe work of the AHU's. There was not a suitable power supply on site so we supplied a generator to run the boiler and AHU's, as well as providing fuel management to keep the generator and boiler full of fuel at all times.
